Meet Somchai, guide for eleven years

"A guide is not a walking encyclopedia. A guide is the person who knows which door to knock on."

Somchai grew up in a village two hours from Luang Namtha and joined us as a porter. Today he trains our new guides.

His rule for travellers: ask a question before you take a photograph, and stay for the answer.
